We recently completed an all new identity for our chums at Future Sounds. They are masters at finding up and coming musicians, usually unsigned and under the radar.
We went with the infant icon because it works on so many levels, while reflecting the timelessness of music it also metaphorically shows the extreme newness of the music they are promoting. It's also a little disturbing using a "music geek" baby which makes it memorable and was the main reason we went with it.
Check out their blog which was just revamped, they also have tour, a radio show and they put out a CD compilation every month showcasing the most promising musicians.
This month, Future Sounds 32 already has a few breakouts, Lemon Sun, The Morning Benders and The Muslims. Some other recent bands to break right after being on Future Sounds include Brazos, Johnossi, The Virgins, the Shout Out Louds, Mgmt, and Sam Sparro.
They also do an event in San Francisco and LA every month called the "Rumble". Check it out if you get a chance.
